Well, here we are, the first post...
I decided to start this blog because I couldn't find an online diary that could tell me how effective the weight-loss drug Meridia is. i know a couple of things:
1) it's dangerous, especially to those with hypertension (me) because it has a tendency to raise blood pressure, albeit by a small amount. that's fine, i'm going to take some other pills for that.
2) it's based on amphetamine, and with the wrong diet (too much coffee, too much salt) can send you gaga.
3) it's expensive - 50p for a daily pill (that's 1 dollar in foreign money)
4) it has mixed results. Some swear it stopss working after 2 weeks, so you should stagger your intake with fortnight breaks.
Either way, i've ordered some online from India. For the uninitiated, its scientific name is sibutramine.
Some starting points:
1) i'm posting this from my cellphone, so excuse the grammer.
2) I'm a5'10, 240 pounds (just over 17 stone / 109kg) and want to get to 195 pounds (14 stone / 88kg)
3) i've tried and failed at fad diets, and fluttered with Orlistat, which is simply horrible.
4) i'm active, work 50-60 hours a week, commute on a scooter, drive a car, have a small child.
That's all for now. oh, pills arrive in a week, and I hope to document the side-effects as well as the weight-loss.
